Kim can be found most weekends in one of Edmonton's hottest Pubs, entertaining enthusiastic crowds. Kim's wide repertoire allows him to entertain audiences of any age group with songs as far back as the 50's to the latest hits on the radio. Kim creates an authentic pub entertainment experience by engaging audiences with humor and music.

Covid-19 kept us from playing indoors, but, it showed us how entertaining and special outdoor performances can be. Kim has played many of these home and neighborhood shows. He appreciates the intimate connection you can make with people in small settings, and has such wide repertoire of music, he can bring entertainment that will inspire any audience.
Kim provides all of his own sound and lighting equipment.

Kim headlines Kim Gates and The Dark Frames, for events where the energy of a full band is appreciated. Playing with Kim is long time collaborator and friend Drew Price, on violin, and drummer, Marty Szucs.
The Dark Frames play Kim's original music and classic covers of the great music of the last 40 years.
